You know what grinds my gears? Nobody's come up with a new priest and a rabbi joke in like thirty years. Ya know? I mean, okay, ah, umm. Priest and a rabbi go, go onto the supermarket, and, uh, the priest wants to buy a ham. And the rabbi says, "Ah, I can't eat it. It's forbidden." Couldn't eat it. Not allowed, pigs are like superheroes to them. Is it perfect? No, but I, I don't see you coming up with anything.

Tarp Overview
Tarpaulins, more commonly known as tarps, have a wide variety of uses. Tarps are large, strong sheets of fabric that are usually waterproof or at least water resistant. Tarps are flexible and are often coated in latex or plastic to give them extra strength. Traditionally, tarps are made of canvas, but they can be made of other fabrics as well.
Tarpaulins have been in use for well over a 1oo Years, and they are still being updated and used in new situations.
There are countless uses for tarps, ranging from covering baseball diamonds during rainstorms, to hauling lumber, to protecting campers from the elements. They can be used both as a roof or extra layer of protection of a tent and as a first layer on the ground to keep out the damp.
Many tarps can be used for several purposes, but others are made for one or two specific uses. Tarps can be used for basically any outdoors endeavours, including gardening, hauling, large scale lawn care, camping, and numerous military uses. Tarpaulins come in numerous colours, including camouflage. They are made of different materials, depending on what they are used for. Some of the strongest tarps are made of polyethylene and other synthetic fibres. Most tarps are water-resistant and many are fire retardant. There are several different sizes of tarps as well. Some are small squares of fabric measuring a few square feet, and others are big enough to cover a football field.
Tarps are such a large part of many activities that they may be taken for granted. People assume that all tarps are the same, but that is not the case. Tarps are made of many different materials and come in several different strengths, sizes and colours. There is a similarly wide range in prices , but one can be found to meet the needs of most any budget.
CANVAS TARPS
Tarps made of canvas are some of the most versatile tarps on the market today. These tarps can be flame retardant, water resistant, and mildew resistant. Canvas tarps come in several fabric gauges, from 10-ounce to 17-ounce and up. (The higher the number, the heavier and more durable the fabric.) Prices range from around $10 for small, untreated canvas tarps, to hundreds of dollars for large waterproof and fire-retardant models. The tarps come in countless sizes and can be used for a multitude of purposes from painting to landscaping to camping.
One of the most common uses of canvas tarps is to protect furniture, carpets and other items while painting inside or outside. While canvas tarps are more expensive than disposable plastic tarps, they can be used over and over again. Canvas tarps are heavy and will stay in place without a lot of complicated taping and securing, and fit well over curved surfaces. They are usually less slippery than disposable plastic tarps, so they are also safer as there is less chance of injury due to falls.
Canvas tarps can be used when landscaping as well. Lightweight waterproof tarps are perfect for protecting grass or plants during snowstorms. Tarps have been used for decades to cover baseball diamonds and football fields during inclement weather; the tarp can be removed as soon as the rain has stopped and play can usually resume immediately.
Many of the finest tents are made of canvas. Adventurous and inventive campers can make their own camping accommodations with canvas tarps, straps and a few poles. These structures will provide shade, will be water and wind resistant, and are a fraction of the cost of a regular tent.
Canvas tarps are versatile and cost effective. They can be used in many diverse situations and are sturdy and dependable.
POLY TARPS
Tarps are made from many different materials, taking into account different factors such as strength, cost, and ability to withstand the elements. One particularly useful material is polyethylene, one of the most versatile man-made fibres in existence. It can be used to make boats, cables, pipes, and plastic bags, among many other items. It can also be used to make tarpaulins.
Poly tarps are strong and durable, and most of them are waterproof. Polyethylene tarpaulins are a good alternative to traditional canvas tarps. Poly tarps can cost as little as $6 for a 6 foot by 8 foot model. Larger tarps measuring 50 feet by 100 feet can cost as much as $780. Of course, there is a wide range of available sizes (and prices) in between. Poly tarps come in a variety of colours, with black and blue being two of the most popular. Some of the uses for poly tarps include lawn care, covering swimming pools, and lumber tarps.
Poly tarps are lightweight compared to canvas, and are often put to use in landscaping since they will not crush grass or plants underneath them. They are often used to cover sports fields in between games to keep the field safe from rain and wind.
Poly tarps are also good for covering swimming pools during the cold months. Poly tarps can easily be secured around swimming pools, and keep rain, twigs, leaves, and other debris out of the pool.
Lumber tarps are often made of strong polyethylene. Strong poly tarps are great for securing lumber because they protect the wood from the elements and are also strong enough to contain the wood and keep it from falling out of the trailer.
Poly tarpaulins are a good alternative to canvas or mesh tarps. They can be more expensive, but their strength, durability and versatility are worth the investment
MESH TARPS
Tarps come in many different types of materials, including mesh. Mesh is a fabric characterized by evenly spaced holes between the threads of the material. Mesh Tarps are usually made of synthetic materials like polyethylene microfilament or vinyl. Mesh tarps are an alternative to the more common canvas tarps. The cost of a mesh tarp starts around $15, but varies greatly depending on the gauge of the mesh and the size of the tarp. There are several uses for mesh tarps, from covering truck beds, to providing shade, to covering swimming pools during the winter months.
Mesh tarps are perfect for covering cargo in truck beds. Since mesh tarps are constructed with small holes between the threads of fabric, they have less wind resistance than some other types of tarps. This is an advantage when hauling sand, gravel, or other substances in a truck. Mesh tarps can be tied down over the bed of a truck securing the cargo underneath.
Mesh tarps are great for providing shade on sunny days. They can be used as awnings and hung off the side of a building, or built into freestanding canopy type structures. Since mesh lets some wind pass through it, it is less likely to blow over than many other types of material.
Covering swimming pools is another use of mesh tarps. Mesh is extremely lightweight, allowing for easy setup. It has a high resistance to UV rays and does not allow water to collect on its surface. One disadvantage to using a mesh tarp to cover a swimming pool is that it may scratch or tear more easily than some other materials.
Mesh tarps can be used in a variety of situations. They are more lightweight than many materials but are just as strong. Their lack of wind resistance is especially noteworthy.
