***Liberty News Network Broadcast***
Good morning. This is Diane Woodruff reporting for LNN. I am standing across the street from what appears to be a mob of protestors in front of Liberty Cathedral. The street is full of about 1,000 protestors burning Vitalinian flags and effigies of government officials.
When LNN interviewed the organizers of the protest, the leaders allegedly stated that the protest was a group of expats from the nation of S8in in response to a cartoon published by the Liberty Torch, a highly influential newspaper that depicted Ron, the Unholy ruler of S8in wearing a nuclear warhead as a hat while performing what is known as the "Cleveland Steamer" on a woman with the caption "Democracy in action in the sovereign nation of S8in" underneath the cartoon.
Apparently, it is a great offense to depict Ron in such a highly denigrating fashion among the people of S8in. The protestors are calling upon the government to issue an apology to the people of S8in. However, the government has issued a statement saying it will not apologize on behalf of a privately-run newspaper citing freedom of expression and freedom of the press.
We shall continue to report as the situation unfolds.

[Consul General to S8in Gabriel St. Angel receives a call from the President of Vitalinia on Air Force Two after an emergency evacuation from the Vitalinian Embassy in S8in]
St. Angel: Yes, sir. My delegation is on our way back to Vitalinia. As soon as we touch down, I'll head over to Masada Palace to give you a debriefing. However, I am still concerned that we have Vitalinian employees still waiting evacuation at the Embassy... Yes, sir. I'll contact him right away.
[St. Angel hangs up and calls Ron]
St. Angel: Good afternoon, Ron.... Yes, the situation has reached a critical point.... Yes, I heard the news. Grenades being thrown at the Embassy, right? Well, I want to voice a concern that we still have employees in harm's way. We trust that your government will fulfill its diplomatic obligations to protect our people, right? Thank you... We'll sort this out, don't worry.
[St. Angel hangs up the phone. He sits back, loosens his tie and prepares to touch down on Vitalinian soil.]

This is Senior Political Correspondent Bob Corddry reporting from S8in. There has been breaking news that has just unfolded here in front of the Vitalinian Embassy. The government has just dispatched the military to break up the violent protest. Apparently, when a grenade was thrown to the troops by an unnamed protestor, the military opened fire on protestors killing four people and wounding 70 others. The protest was quickly broken up and firefighters rushed to the scene to put out the fire in the Vitalinian Embassy started by the protestors who threw live grenades into the embassy.
There have been no reported injuries or casualties from the Vitalinian consulate.
We shall continue to report as the story unfolds.
