Dear Mr. Quagmire,
The following conversation was recorded just a few hours ago. I thought that you may find it of great interest. No thanks needed. My loyalty lies first with the SNQ.
****
Location: The Gold Dining Room, The Imperial Palace, St. Andrei, HE of Vitalina
Date: Tuesday, December 27
In attendance: President John Vitaliz of Vitalinia (J), President Adre Vizliat of Vitalistan (AD), President Richard Long of Calvista (R), and Empress Aleksandra Vitalinova of Vitalina (AL).
AD: An excellent dinner, Sasha. These delicacies are hard to come by in my country, unfortunately.
AL: I'm glad that there are no hard feelings between us, Adre. I did what I had to.
AD: Aye, well...
J: I have to agree with Sasha. What you did, Adre... borders on extremism. If you stayed and forced Sasha's hand—I hate to imagine what it would look to the common states if the Six turned their guns upon each other.
R: You are all cowards.
AL: What are you saying?
R: You cater to the common states, as though *they* held the power and not us!
J: Dick, being one of Six is a position of responsibility, not just power. There must be a balance.
R: Diplomacy is for the birds! Action! Politics is about *action*!
AL: You are a fool.
AD: Even *I* know when is too far.
R: No, you had the right idea. I would have backed you, Adre. If I had thought of it, I would have sent my troops in there... I would have shot those satellites to the ground!
J: Calm down, man!
R: The Six is a joke! All you do is talk and talk. We have power but none of you have the will to use it!
AL: Yes, we have power, but we need to remember that we have that power to uphold the principles of the SNQ. To lord our power over the other nations... that violates everything the SNQ was founded on.
R: Perhaps then I should relinquish my position as one of the six.
AD: You can't be serious! You were with us since the beginning!
R: I see now that my vision has changed... this isn't how I expected everything to turn out.
J: Are you pulling out of the region then, Richard?
R: No, but my nation cannot be part of the Six any longer. I have a co—
